In 1989, after a long and successful career as a computer chip manufacturer's rep and owner of Comtech, Inc., Nizar started to see a greater and greater need for a customer-focused system integrator in the US to provide a turnkey system solution for many of his process control customers. With that idea in mind, he founded Global American, Inc. with virtually no experience in the Industrial PC sector. For over 20 years, Nizar grew the company through establishing relationships with some of the largest and most respected IPC Manufacturers in Taiwan and China. Global now represents more than 10 overseas factories and manufacturers, and counts thousands of companies as its clients - among them Fortune 500 and Process Control, Aerospace, and Biotech giants. In 2010, Nizar retired, leaving his daughter, Leah Walsh, in charge of all company operations. Nizar has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell.
Leah Walsh, President
In 2006, Leah joined Global American and began to learn the business from the bottom up. As a former Advertising Account Director, Leah's background of strong customer-service and sales focus quickly lead her to take over the sales and marketing for the organization. At the time of her father's retirement, Leah had grown to Vice President and General Manager - overseeing all of Global's day-to-day operations. Now, as President of Global, she’s seen a 50% increase in sales and continues to lead the company to steady growth and success. Leah has a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New Hampshire and speaks German fluently
Teri Heatherington, Controller
In 2002, Teri joined Global at a pivotal time in our growth, and proved her abilities went far beyond the Account Assistant role she came on board to perform. Now, as Global’s Controller, Teri oversees all financial functions within the company. Teri has a B.S. in Accounting.
Cathy Perault, Customer Service and Sales Support Manager
Cathy joined Global in 2004 as Sales Administrator but quickly rose through the ranks till she became, only two years later, manager of her department. Day-to-day, Cathy ensures that Global maintains the highest standard of customer service and support to our customers. Prior to Global, Cathy served as Manager of Information Systems for Tyson Foods. She has an MBA and BA in Information Systems Technology with a Minor in Accounting.
Don Christian, Technical Operations Manager
Recently promoted to Technical Operations Manager, Don’s passion for all things technical is evident to anyone who has the pleasure of working with him and he’s fondly referred to as our resident “geek”. With 20+ years’ experience in the Computer Hardware and Software arenas, Don brings know-how and ability to this very challenging position. Don also has a degree in Computer Information Systems from University of New Hampshire and is dedicated to providing top level technical service to all of our customers when he’s not training his wonder dog, Willow.
Andrea Delgado, Operations Coordinator
In 2008, Andrea joined the Global team as Sales Administrator. With her love for staying busy, and supporting multiple areas at Global, she has grown into Operations Coordinator. Which consists of processing sales orders, handling RMAs, Shipping, Receiving, managing the Stockroom, and serving as Global American’s Safety Officer. Andrea has an associate degree in Science.
Carl - CBO (Chief Barking Officer)
Carl joined Global in 2015, and has become an integral player in the daily comings and goings of the company. Our Resident Greeter, Solicitor-Chaser and Watchdog is widely believed to be our friendliest employee. Not a day goes by that he doesn't welcome everyone to work at the front door and subsequently, not one Global Employee neglects to keep some sort of treat for him in their desk. We expect big things from Carl in the future.
